ANNUAL REPORT

2022-2023

A warm good evening to one and all.

Distinguished guests, staff members and my dear students. I take this opportunity to convey my heartfelt greetings to you all , and welcome you to the annual day celebrations of our college.

Annual day is also a day , on which we take stock of the year gone by and review the achievements and innovations brought about.

Seth Ram Bahadur Singh Gujarati College was established in the year 1999. The College is managed by Shri Cochin Gujarati Mahajan.

                The vision of Seth Ram Bahadur Singh Gujarati College is “to be excellent in the field of education by providing value based career oriented education and to create self-dependent persons with moral values and responsibility towards the society “.

  COURSES

At presently we have   3 Under Graduate Courses and 1 Post Graduate course.  

 B.Com Finance And Taxation,  BBA and BCA and   M.Com  Finance 

FACULTY

 We have well qualified and experienced faculty members in various depts... . We have 21 teaching staff members and 4 administrative staff members.

Here comes few academic participation and presentations of our faculty members

  1. Sanam S, HOD of Department of Computer Application participated in an International Conference Organized by Intel Corporation, held at Mahatma Gandhi university, Kottayam
  2. SINDHU S, Assistant Professor of Department of Management studies participated in Faculty Development Program (FDP)  organized by   MES College, Kochi.

 

  1. Three of our Assistant professors namely Mrs. Nanditha B Shenoy , Aparna K P, Miss Vishnupriya, participated in Faculty Knowledge Sharing Programme ,  conducted by ICFAI Business school in the month of August  in  Ernakulam.

 

  1. Principal has attended a two day training programme in the area of Qualitative education & Leadership at Naipunnya Institute of Management & Technology , Thrissur in the month of November.
  2. Principal, Staff and union members have participated in the MG University global academic carnival (EUNOIA 2023) at Kottayam in this Month.

 

The college has taken many new initiatives for the betterment of academics and extra-curricular activities of the students this year.

 

  • First year entrants/ have been trained for a day about values and positive attitude for their successful career.
  • “Give blood and save life”. By keeping this note in our observance, we conducted a voluntary blood donation camp in association with Blood Donors of Kerala, supported by Amirta hospital, Edapally in the month of June .
  • A job orientation programme for final Year BCA students was conducted by skilled trainers from Avodha Kochin in the month of June.
  • Celebrated Independence Day on 15 August 2022 at College campus in a colorful way.
  • As per the direction of Govt of Kerala in Association with Police Department/ in the month of August, we lead an awareness workshop on - “Nirbhaya mobile App”   at College campus./ Our students and PTA members also participated the programme
  • In Association with Kerala excise dept, we conducted an Anti-Drug awareness campaign / Vimukthi ,in the month of August for all students.

 

  • Conducted an Inter class Football Tournament/ in the month of August at Coronation Club, Mattancherry./8 teams participated in the tournament
  • A series of industrial visits (IV)  took place as part of the curriculum
  • Final year BCA Students visited Infopark, Kochi in the month of August
  • Final Year BBA students visited HMT, Kalamasserry and
  • Final year B.Com students visited Managala Seafoods, Aroor, Alapuzha
  •  
  • As part of NSDC - National Skill Development Corporation, we organized a skill development  class for final year B.com students in association with FINISHING SCHOOL, KOCHI,  in the month of  October .
  • A Fresher’s day programme was arranged for first year students, by Senior students
  • Human Chain” conducted as a part of ‘Bodhapurnima- ending ceremony of Anti Drug Campaign’ an initiative of Kerala govt  - was conducted  in the month of November  at  college premises .
  • A series of Alumni talks   took place in the campus
  • Our college com Alumni Mr Dand Pranav Upendra, Stock Market Consultant and Associate Partner in Shri Dutt Financial Services Ltd, Mumbai / conducted an Alumni Talk on “Capital Market” to Our UG and PG Commerce  students

             - Mr Bharath Jagadeesh,  IT analyst , TCS, Kochi / our BCA Alumni  gave an alumni    

                  Talk “on Recent technologies “to our  BCA dept students in the month of    

                  November

- Our BBA alumni  Mr. Adhil Mohammed, Senior Executive (US TAX) Datamatics Global Solutions, / also lead  an alumni talk to the BBA students on – “Career in US Taxation”

 

  • BCA Department association was inaugurated by Dr Jeeva Jose /(Associate Professor, BPC College, Piravom) in the month of November
  • College Union election was conducted and Mr Saurav M R elected as the Chairman and Ms Arshida Thalhath elected as Vice Chairperson of the College.
  • A training programme in association with JCI Cochin in the topic “How to build your future” were conducted for First year UG students  in the  month of December
  • . Women Self Defense Training  and A Digital De addiction programme Programme  conducted in association with Police dept .

Special Achievements by students

 

  • Mr Avinash Rajan of B.Com Second Semester won the second prize for spot photography as part of national level intercollegiate Fest conducted by Rajagiri College, Kakkanad.(January)
  • Mr Kiran K S of final year BBA has won remarkable  position in POWERLIFTING (59 Kg) in National level Men’s Championship  held at Aurangabad, Maharashtra.

 

  • Fernadaz Antony of final year BCA has won the third prize for 65 KG category Wrestling (Men) in the Mahatma Gandhi University Inter-Collegiate competition held at C.M.S.College kottayam.

 

In conclusion I would like to say

         A word of appreciation goes to the teaching faculty of all departments for their inexorable work, holding the high tradition and values of SRBS family , and to the administrative staff for their valuable services rendered to the college.

To our College union,   this was only possible through your commitment of time and effort, which is especially notable rather than your normal responsibilities.

                         I would like to thank our chief guest Honorable Justice Sri.Devan Ramachandran sir   for sparing his valuable time and being with us to motivate and encourage us.

My heartfelt thanks to SRBS parent community for their continued support that /all we have done .We hope to grow further /with your continued support and the time to come.
